Philly was fine for that quick day. Sudden big meeting at a big conference center connected to the Amtrack station there. I grabbed a pocket shot of what the scene was like while we got down to business:
It was all fine. We got much done. The atmosphere was a little funny. The suits and slightly clangy water containers and those weirdly non-food food items that always seem to be in great abundance as these sorts of things, very much despite the fact that no oneĀ really eats them. They sit on your plate after a bite, like mine does here.
Grabbed a bite with some other attendees and suddenly I was on the train back to NYC.
In the office in shorts and floppers today. Would you ever spend over $100 on flip flops? Is that insane? I need a replacement for my current pair as they’re a year old and for me and floppers that’s about the duration. I was in the giant REI down on Broadway-Lafayette and discovered a huge wall of flip-flop type things. I found a pair that I thought were absolutely perfect. They met all of my criteria– flat, leather, molded footbed, super high durability construction, they looked good. But then I discovered they were $11o. Holy.
I put them back.
I mean, let’s say they lasted three years. That’d mean they’re only $37…
You know?
I have a conference next week in Milwaukee and I’m looking forward to it, I think. It’s at a resort on the banks of Lake Michigan, 7th-12th. Could be very interesting. We’ll see. If it’s not, I’ll be able to get lots of swimming in, at least.
Dang it’s almost 11 and I have go so soon. I had more to tell you about. Will have to wait until demain. Or later today, we’ll see.
Until then, have a good everything,
Bye.
