I wear my boots just about everywhere, every day. In the city, in the mountains, in the desert, on the beach. I chose them very carefully.
Mine are handmade in New Hampshire by a company called Limmer, lifetime guarantee and perfect fit.

The two important features: The whole boot is made out of one piece of leather, resulting in only one, quintuple-reinforced seam, so it’s always pretty water tight. In the shot above, you see one greased up, one super thirsty.
I’ve had mine re-soled once.
They are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn. I can stay in them for 16 hours a day and stay comfortable. Over time, the leather has molded to my foot shape and they feel like running shoes. I can hike in them all day every day for days on end in comfort. They’re great on all surfaces.
“But don’t you get too hot wearing boots all the time? You wear them even in summer?”
Nope. Yup.
