My morning walk to work will be hard to give up, when that day eventually comes. Coffee in hand, sun on left-face, bluest of blue skies, slow 20 minutes up Riverside Drive and across at 116th. It’s not the New York I ever imagined, and is much better.<\/p>\n

Yesterday was my start at figuring out what’s necessary to bring on this trip. I leave in two days for nearly a month living out of a backpack in three very distinct climates– sweltering Indian summer, humid and chilly Nagaland and Assam jungle, and cold altitudes in Nepal. Two thirds of the trip will be sweltering, only a few days will be really cold.\u00a0Still thinking about it. Here’s the tentative packing arrangement– an image, then a list.
